Girls everywhere deserve opportunities to thrive. We are happy to highlight how young girls are being celebrated, empowered and supported to reach their full potential. From inspiring stories to impactful initiatives, this initiative provides chances to learn about how we can all contribute to creating a future where every girl can succeed.

Jacqueline Asiimwe a well-known Ugandan lawyer, feminist, philanthropy advisor and CEO of CivSource Africa who was the Chief Guest at the awards ceremony while speaking to the audience, she expressed deep gratitude to those who have walked with her, acknowledging how their support opened doors of opportunity. Through the word OPPORTUNITY, she shared timeless lessons to us and encouraged us to remain open-minded, patient, be purposeful, be optistic, stay ready for life’s chances, be teachable, unique, be willing to nurture others, to embrace innovation, be tenacious and stay true to yourself. Her words encouraged the audience especially the young girls to embrace life’s lessons with courage and authenticity. Her message was a beautiful reminder that every opportunity no matter how small, is a chance to grow, serve and inspire others while creating ripples of change in the lives we touch.

The GCA 2025 emphasized that girls’ voices matter especially in advocacy, environmental protection, education, innovation and health. For many winners, the awards were a foundation for public recognition and opening for partnerships, visibility and further opportunities.

Girl advocacy is a catalyst for shifting power and transforming our world. When we empower girls to speak up and lead, we challenge entrenched inequalities and pave the way for groundbreaking solutions to global issues.

Wezesha Girls Network wishes to congratulate all nominees and urges them to be the change they want to see in the world.
