WEZESHA GIRLS NETWORK UGANDA

WEZESHA GIRLS NETWORK UGANDA is a coalition of more than 50 Grassroot Organisations that work to create opportunities for girls to learn, lead and take action towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 - access to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Its Hosted by Raising Teeangers Uganda located at Ntinda Kisaasi Road- Sayuni Complex Building Level 2 The network works with the private sector, government, cultural and religious institutions, ministries, Departments and Agencies to operationalize education policies, laws and guidelines to protect children from all forms of violence. In addition, the network targets community leaders, parents and other key stakeholders responsible for the safety and well being of children. The Goal is to increase access, retention and completion of education for girls and contribute to sustainable development of Uganda.

To coordinate collective efforts that promote women and girls’ rights through advocacy, networking, capacity building and collaboration to achieve gender equality in Uganda.

A World that gives equal opportunities to women and girls to learn, lead and thrive in all aspects of life.

Our Ojectives

To act as the Umbrella association that brings together all girl child rights-focused organizations that work to protect and promote the rights, welfare and development of girls in Uganda.

To collaborate to promote girls’ education, build agency and support out of school girls to contribute to the development of their communities.

To facilitate learning and coordination between civil society organizations working to promote girls’ education in Uganda.

To influence implementation of laws and policies safeguarding children and raise awareness on all forms of violence against women and girls.

To partner with Government agencies, private sector, academia and to support the enhancements of government policies, regulations and regulatory enforcement mechanisms for the promotion of the health, social and economic well-being of women and girls in Uganda.

To do all such other lawful things as are deemed incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
