The Leaders Gala2025 was an elegant and inspiring evening that brought together leaders, young changemakers and organizations with one shared goal; to serve and create impact. The gala was hosted at Kampala Serena Hotel and was a celebration of leadership, mentorship and purpose-driven service. Under the theme, ‘Crowned in purpose, rooted in service’ the event captured the heart of the night, reminding everyone that true leadership is not about position, but about impact. This echoed through every speech, performance and conversation, inspiring participants to reflect on their leadership journeys and their commitment to service.
The event featured some of Uganda’s most influential leaders and emerging changemakers who are redefining what it means to lead with empathy and vision. Sam Kirabo, in his moving speech captured at the leaders podcast hosted by CivLegacy Foundation emphasized the power of support in leadership, saying, ‘my dominant hand is support, the gift God gave me to help others do what they were called to do.’ His message resonated deeply with many, highlighting the importance of collaboration and uplifting others on the journey of leadership.
In another episode of the podcast, Dorah and Francis Musinguzi spoke passionately about the intersection between leadership and well-being. Dorah reminded the audience that, ‘leaders that are not well, don’t lead well.’ Her words were a timely reminder that the strength to serve others must begin with caring for oneself both physically, emotionally and mentally.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night came when Sylvia Mulinge, the CEO of MTN Uganda, addressed the audience. MTN Uganda was a key partner for the gala, not only supporting the event through ticketing but also sponsoring 50 young unstoppable changemakers to attend. In her speech, she supported the essence of the theme stating that ‘true leadership is not about position but about purpose and service.’ Her words left the room in thoughtful silence, affirming that leadership with heart and humility is what truly changes communities.

Beyond the inspiring speeches, the leaders gala was a night of meaningful networking and mentorship. The event created a platform for young leaders, organizations and mentors to connect, exchange ideas and explore collaborations aimed at transforming communities. For Wezesha Girls Network, it was more than a celebration, it was a moment of growth, reflection and empowerment. It offered us an opportunity to meet potential mentors, discover new partnerships and reaffirm their shared mission of empowering the next generation. Describing the evening, Jacqueline Asiimwe, CEO of CivSource Africa, called it ‘nothing short of extraordinary.’ The atmosphere was filled with energy, hope and renewed purpose and the guests left the venue feeling motivated, connected and ready to serve.
The Leaders Gala was not just another event, it was a reminder that leadership is not defined by titles or positions but by service, purpose and the positive impact we leave in the lives of others.
